Virtual Reality has become a huge part of our technology lately. New VR sets have surfaced and are becoming a huge hit. It became a different way of reaching an audience. It also gives a new experience to the audience. When it comes to a story or an action, VR has turned it into a lifestlye storytelling by becoming real life. They capture the moment and create something emmersive with it. “That is a massive challenge when approaching distribution in VR,” says Ariel. “I guess you can think about this as two roots, right? You can create your own standalone experience around your product, or your brand, or whatever creative you created; put it on some sort of distribution platform, and wait for people to download this experience, or experience it somehow out of their own will". You have to take a chance on Virtual Reality because it is different than anything someone has seen before when listening to a story. Chris Milk started with a rocket and carried that into more reality with better equipped technology. As he started as a filmmaker he used more technology that was acceptable to him and created a better virtual reality. They create this new reality with mediaa for people to feel empathy. The tecchnologists make these machines for the consumer to be able to "feel their self inside of it". they want their audience to feel the story, not just listen to it but to be able to experience everything it portrays. By showing clips of a story being told, you are able to feel emotions in a real way. When Chris Milk states that he thinks "we can change minds with this machine", I 100% agree with him. I think that this type of technology is the next big thing when expressing something that people want to hear and what people need to be told.

  1. I like how you mentioned taking a chance on VR: it is something so unconventional that the idea may be off putting for newcomers. I think this factor is really important to recognize when thinking about one's audience. Who is more likely to enjoy VR, and who prefers traditional story telling?
