The video, "The Problem That Has No Name" was very intense and interesting to watch. It seemed to show how woman always have the household duties to uphold. This narrative about woman has been going on since anyone can ever remember. It seems to be a video directed to tell the story of woman making food, cleaning the house, doing the chores for their husbands and having to suffer in silence. The woman also seem to be making themselves sick, it does not give the reason as to why specifically. But, I would think they are getting sick or injured to get out of the cycle of doing these "chores". Woman having this narrative of being the "cleaning lady or chef" takes a toll on them and their hope for their own type of future. Gender identity has been a topic of discussion especially the past few years. People have a hard time being able to express their gender identity whether it being with clothes, attitude, or just the outside perspective of the world. "Un/tied Shoes" is a company that Evie Ruddy has started. Un/tied is presented as an online shoe company, but visitors expecting to browse the latest styles will instead find a first-person account of self-actualization and contesting categorization. It is a company to help reflect gender identity. Body image is alos an important part of our culture because it is another huge topic. Sizes for clothes have been increasing and decreasing to include all sizes. "My Body- a Wunderkammer" by Shelly Jackson is an artist that created a central focus on the relationship between human identity and the body's constituent organs, fuids, connective tissues, and other parts. I think an important part of this piece is that is is talking about and showing the many different parts about body image. Body image is not just what you see in the mirror, it is aso about what is on the inside and everything that makes up your body.

  1. I also thought that "The Problem That Has No Name" was very intense, it says a lot about gender identity without actually saying much at all.
