Tree Post

"Poems About Trees", was definitely something I did not expect to be about, I truly thought it would be about trees and only trees. This poem went in every direction I could possibly imagine. When I first read the poem and it was done, I almost had to question if I was reading the right poem for this assignment and when I realized that I did, I went back to read it again. It was a comical poem because it is not what you would expect. When you are reading published work, you would expect it to be professional unless the title states otherwise, and this time the title did not do that. It was enjoyable to read because it was a continuous thought process that seemed to almost never end. In the article, "Hermann Hesse on What Trees Teach Us About Belonging and Life" was more on the right path of what I thought it was going to be about. This article gets really deep and personal about how trees can teach you about life with just their presence. This quote, "A tree says: My strength is trust. I know nothing about my fathers, I know nothing about the thousand children that every year spring out of me. I live out the secret of my seed to the very end, and I care for nothing else. I trust that God is in me. I trust that my labor is holy. Out of this trust I live." Has a lot of depth to it because I think that it shows trees have more to offer than just a branch outside. It reveals that trusting without knowing all the answers can give more to life than you thought. The video of "Treeline" on Vimeo was interesting because you see another side of trees. The people that were interviewed showed their love and story of trees. There was a lot of action films of people walking through trees and gazing at them which felt like a special moment between the person and the tree.
